New Blog Location

February 21, 2011

Hey, my new blog location is at http://couganwaddell3d.blogspot.com/.  I will update my blog with projects from school and just about the Think Tank in general.  Feel free to comment.  I hope to see you there.

The Beginning

February 6, 2011

So, lets start this now!  Things in my life have changed quite a bit and luckily I took the opportunity to head back to school.  New Media Campus taught me a small amount of what I need to know but they didn't offer me a chance to actually see the industry and be taught by industry professionals.  That is where my new school comes in!  The Think Tank Training Center in Vancouver, BC.  After doing tons of research and emailing some current and past graduates, the choice to apply was easy.  I a...

Another Project from DigitalFlux Entertainment

June 4, 2010
I am not going to be showing any screens of my work from DigitalFlux but I can definately post some basic descriptions of what I am currently working on.  Can't I?

So as of a few days ago I started on some weapons for "Epic Frontiers".  I love getting to work on weapons.  Challenges my modelling skills by making sure I keep some detail without going over the poly limit and I am instantly rewarded as a weapon doesn't take as long as other projects do.  Creating normal maps for weapons is anothe...

I know, It's Been Awhile

May 16, 2010
So I have no real excuse as to why I have not updated my blog other than I have been working more than I would like.  It would be much easier if work was 3D but for now I will stick to my guns and continue on the path I have set out for myself.

I am currently working for a company called DigitalFlux Entertainment on an MMO called "Epic Frontiers".  I have done a few buildings so far and I am currently working on a smaller creature.  I like having the chance to work with creative minds as well ...

Finally Updated

October 14, 2009

So it seems I have been away from the site for awhile.  My updates aren't very frequent as you may have noticed but with work, family, and friends it seems I neglect to update my site.  Fortunately I was not as abusive towards my 3D.

I have been messing around with level designs with my buddies Scotty, Brian and Jonny for a survival level in Left 4 Dead.  After trying to export objects out of Maya for use in the Steam Engine I came across a lot of problems.  The insturctions seemed clear but i...

Back From Holiday!

August 18, 2009
Well as much as I hate to come back to work after such a relaxing vacation, here I am.  I didn't take my computer with me so there was no 3D to be had, but it gave me a chance to read a couple books and hang out with family without feeling the guilt of not sittin down at the comp and busting out some 3D.

I am back at it now at work and on my 3D.  I hope to have alot more of my level finished by the end of this week but I do still have to catch up on some work that had gone untouched over my 2 ...

Website Done!

July 16, 2009
My website is now done!  I took me a little longer than I wanted but I think it showcases my work in the way I wanted it to.  I will continue to update my current projects as well as this blog.  I will try to blog it up once a week but I can't promise anything.  It pretty much counts on how much 3D work I get done.  Hopefully a lot.

Next step for me is to start writing up some cover letters and applying to as many companies as possible.  I have been told that I need at least 3 years experience...

Welcome!

July 8, 2009

I would like to say welcome to everyone who views my blog and my website.  I will basically be using this blog to keep everyone updated on what I am working on as well as the progress being made.  I will also use this blog to set some goals and hopefully complete them.

So basically, right now I am just working on this website.  I am doing a bit of planning and getting everything ready for when I start to apply to some game companies.  I am going to need to snazz this up a bit with some custom ...
